In Tier 3, prospectors can unlock the Kitchen Bench this allows for the creation of Bread Dough and Berry Jam. The Cement Mixer allows the prospector to craft Concrete Mix, and Concrete Building Pieces. For example, in Tier 2 they can unlock the Ice Box, which allows prospectors to drastically reduce the rate that food decays. Some status effects are negative (like Dysentery) while others are very beneficial.Īs prospectors progress, they will unlock more efficient ways of storing and obtaining food. Prospectors will have a variety of foods to choose from, and several can offer unique Status Effects when eaten.
The most common, early-game food is Wild Berry, which also help replenish the thirst meter when consumed. Prospectors replenish their hunger meter by eating Food Items. If the thirst meter becomes too low, prospectors will have a reduced rate of stamina regeneration, and eventually begin losing Health. Like Oxygen and Thirst, hunger must be replenished on a regular basis, or the prospector will begin to experience increasingly negative effects. Only after landing on Icarus can the packet be consumed, which will give the Prospector five of the resources. Fur is a harvested Animal Resource collected from Fauna with Knives. It is a crucial ingredient in Fur Armor, which is essential equipment for prospectors venturing into the Arctic Biome for the first time. If multiple veins are very far away, the scan will show what looks like a single arc with no depth at all. Fur is widely used when crafting Armors, and in certain Deployables like the Bedroll. Unlike Iron Crop Plots and Hydroponic Crop Plots, the Wood Crop Plot cannot be connected to a Water Pump. The Wood Crop Plot can be watered by right-clicking the plot while holding a Liquid Container or by leaving the plot exposed to the elements. When scanning close to a vein, a gem icon will appear to mark its exact location. The Wood Crop Plot is a farming plot for growing Plant Resources. Shallow, wide arcs indicate the veins that are far away. Each vein is somewhere within the arc, and most often NOT centered on the arc (the arc is not 'pointing' to the vein). Must be placed outdoors.Įach vein is represented by an arc of a specific depth and width. This equipment REQUIRES an external power source ( Biofuel Generator, Solar Panel, or Water Wheel) and an Electricity Tool. While they can gather Food with their bare hands, and can attempt to Hunt with their fists, everything they attempt on the moons surface is facilitated by crafting. Press 'G' to ready and left-click to place. Crafting is the skill that enables many of the other ways prospectors pursue their goals on Icarus.
The Electric Radar is carried in the "G" slot. This can be used to spawn aggressive wildlife for resources or experience. Scans performed in an Open World or Outpost will not complete as there are no exotic veins in either. Radars of all types will show ALL exotic veins on the map in each scan, regardless of whether they have been depleted. Once activated, aggravated fauna (varier per region) will attempt to destroy the radar by any means necessary. The Electric Radar is used to scan for exotic veins.
